Update on Beaches, Parks and Businesses Next Phase of Beach and Parks Reopening The City would like to announce the next phase of beaches and parks re-opening will occur on Tuesday, June 2nd in coordination with all coastal cities in San Diego County. Individuals and members of the same household will be allowed to sit, lie down, and sunbathe on our beaches and parks. Specific protocols will remain in place to prevent gatherings and sporting activities. Parking lots will remain closed. In addition, chairs, towels and small, single-pole umbrellas will be allowed on the beach. Coolers, pop-up tents, canopies and large shade structures will not be allowed. New signs will be posted at the beach access points and parks and are shown at the bottom of this email.   In addition, the City is revising the beach access regulations to allow entry and exit and at all beach access stairs. However, face coverings will be mandatory at all times on the stairways and social distancing of at least 6 feet must be adhered to at all times. Single-file entry/exit is required and no exercising on or gathering, stopping, or standing at any time on the stairs or overlooks.  Health Directives Public Health Order Updates: The state has provided guidance on the opening of additional services and businesses, with limitations. Each entity needs to review state guidance and complete the County's Safe Reopening Plan, print and post it at their entrance. San Diego County and California public health officials have issued additional orders to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Businesses with questions can email: COVID19BusinessQuestions@sdcounty.ca.gov Places of worship: State guidance for places of worship  Hair salons and barbershops: State guidance for hair salons  The following businesses should remain closed: Bars and nightclubs  Hotels, Airbnb, VRBO Gyms, fitness centers Nail Salons Entertainment venues  Public events and gatherings Beach parking lots Hotel and Lodging Establishments Hotels and other lodging establishments, such as Airbnb’s, are higher-risk workplaces and are not allowed to be opened for non-essential purposes until the State’s Stage 3 of the reopening plan.  The County is aware of a number of hotels that are either operating or planning to open soon, some of them advertising through email or press releases availability for “staycations.” A letter was recently provided to the San Diego County Hotel-Motel Association with existing guidance to clarify any confusion. As we continue to move forward, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and CalOSHA have updated the Industry Guidance: Hotels and Lodging on May 12, 2020 for hotels and other lodging establishments to prepare for the ability to open in Stage 3.  HAIR SALONS AND BARBERSHOPS Hair Salons and Barbershops must review the state guidance and complete the County's Safe Reopening Plan, print and post it at their entrance. The services that can and cannot be provided include the following: Dos:  Only services where workers and customers can wear face coverings for the entirety of service.   Don'ts:  Eyelash services Eyebrow waxing and threading Facials Shaves DINE-IN RESTAURANT REOPENING PLANS  On May 20, the state approved San Diego County to allow restaurants to have dine-in customers with modifications.
