Spring is in the air and before you know it, summer will be here. Beginning at 7:00 AM on Monday morning, May 18th, the City of Solana Beach welcomes the public back into beautiful La Colonia Park (715 Valley Avenue) for passive exercise, which includes walking, biking, jogging and dogs on leashes.
We encourage everyone to enjoy the beauty of La Colonia Park, get some exercise and fresh air and experience the wonderful spring weather. The City is excited to re-open the park but must emphasize that the public observe all the guidelines that are in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, so that the park can remain open.
Park features that will remain closed include the Skate Park, parking lot, basketball courts, restrooms, tables, and playground. We hope to reopen these amenities at a future date depending on the publics' compliance efforts during this Phase-1 re-opening and pending guidance from the County.
Please continue to recognize the following guidelines in the park:
- Do not enter the park if you have a cough or fever
- Always maintain a minimum of six-foot distance from others, except those in your immediate family/household
- Always have a face covering and wear it if within six feet of others
- At-risk individuals should stay home
- No stopping, active recreation only
As required by the County Health Order, City Staff will be on-site every day, including the weekends, to enforce the rules and regulations of the park. We need the cooperation of every one that visits the park to ensure that it can remain open for the public to enjoy. We are all in this together!
