This temporary program delivers meals to older adults in San Diego County who meet age and other eligibility criteria. Older adults are among those most vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19, and it is especially important that they stay safely at home.
Participating restaurants will prepare and deliver three healthy meals per day to program participants.
The program is intended to serve seniors not currently receiving or eligible for other federal nutrition benefits, such as CalFresh or the Senior Nutrition Program. A County committee selected restaurants based on their ability to meet volume and nutritional standards, use local produce and meats, and prioritize worker retention.
Capacity is limited, apply soon. The program is expected to run through June 10.
There are two ways to apply:
- Call the Aging & Independence Services Call Center at (800) 339-4661 and select option 7,
- Visit the Great Plates Delivered website to complete the online form.
