| | Save Energy & Cut Emissions with Heat Pump Water Heater Rebate Program | | | | Did you know heat pump water heaters are about three times more efficient than gas water heaters and reduce safety risks by eliminating the potential for gas leaks? To support residents in making this upgrade, the City is offering a $500 rebate for Solana Beach residents and contractors who install a heat pump water heater to replace an existing gas unit. This rebate helps lower the upfront cost of heat pump technology while supporting the transition toward cleaner, electric alternatives and away from fossil-fuel appliances that release greenhouse gases. | | | Score Free Game Tickets with CEA’s Website Scavenger Hunt | | | | Love live sports? Here’s your chance to catch the action at Frontwave Arena for free. Clean Energy Alliance is hosting a fun and interactive Website Scavenger Hunt where participants can win tickets to an upcoming San Diego Clippers or San Diego Sockers game. CEA customers (18+) who explore the CEA website and correctly answer three quick questions can receive up to four free tickets. Tickets are "first-come first-served" so jumping in early gives you the best shot at winning. This is a great way to learn more about CEA programs and services, and maybe enjoy a free game night, compliments of CEA! | | | 3rd Annual Coast and Ranch Book Crawl February 7th - February 14th | | | | The 3rd Annual Coast and Ranch Book Crawl returns February 7th-14th, inviting book lovers to explore the wonderful used bookstores operated by the Friends of the Library in Solana Beach, Cardiff, Encinitas, and Rancho Santa Fe. Pick up a Book Crawl passport at any participating bookstore, collect stamps during the week, and submit a completed passport from all four locations to be entered into a prize drawing sponsored by local businesses. The Solana Beach Library will also host a special “Love Your Library” event on February 7th from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM featuring a guided painting activity and a children’s musical performance. | | | SANDAG Virtual Class: All About E-Bikes Tuesday, February 10th at 12:00 PM | | | | SANDAG hosts quarterly virtual bike education classes that are free and available to everyone. Join their next class on Tuesday, February 10th, at 12:00 PM, to learn all about e-bikes from certified experts at the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition. With more e-bikes on the road than ever before, it's important for car drivers, pedestrians, and those riding bikes to know the latest rules and regulations. This class includes the rules of the road for all bike riders, but focuses specifically on regulations for e-bikes. | | | First on the Scene: What to Do Before Help Arrives Tuesday, February 10th at 6:00 PM | | | | Whether you live with someone or live alone, what do you do in an emergency? On Tuesday, February 10th at 6:00 PM at the La Colonia Community Center, come and listen to American Medical Response (AMR) EMT Max Gonzalez and EMT/Community Outreach Officer Eric Nixon as they talk about what to do before help arrives once you’ve called 911. EMTs Max and Eric will discuss what will happen when an ambulance responds to your call. They will also share information on how to keep yourself safe in your home for as long as possible. | | | Monthly Solana Beach Games Day Thursday, February 12th at 12:30 PM | | | | | Join us on Thursday, February 12th for Solana Beach Games Day! This monthly community event is held every second Thursday of the month from 12:00-2:00 PM at La Colonia Community Center. This monthly series is hosted in collaboration with the City's Parks and Recreation Department, Solana Beach Community Connections and Let's Play a Game Foundation. Transportation for local seniors is available upon request. | | | Hotcakes and Heartbeats Saturday, February 14th at 8:30 AM | | | | This Valentine’s Day, show some love to your heart and your community. Join the Solana Beach Fire Department from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM on February 14th for the first-ever Hotcakes and Heartbeats fundraiser. Enjoy pancakes, learn about heart health and CPR, and support local programs that give back. Plates are $15 each or $40 for three, with all proceeds benefiting Solana Beach Backpacks for Kids and the Solana Beach Free Farmer’s Market.
