Save the Date for Summer Programs Registration

The City of Solana Beach offers two very popular youth programs for children during the Summer break. Our Summer Camp and Junior Lifeguard programs offer local youth the opportunity to get outdoors, have fun, meet new friends, make lasting memories, and learn in the process. Junior Lifeguard registration opens on Saturday, March 14th, at 9:00 AM. Summer Day Camp registration for Solana Beach residents will open Wednesday, April 1st at 8:00 AM. Sessions will fill up fast, so it is highly recommended to sign up early!

Sandbags Available for Rain Next Week

Rain is forecast for next week, with heavy rainfall expected on Monday, February 16th and Tuesday, February 17th. To help residents prepare, the City is offering free pre-filled sandbags for self pickup in the City Hall parking lot (635 S. Highway 101), limited to seven per household. We encourage everyone to take simple steps to stay safe: secure outdoor items, turn off irrigation, drive with extra caution, and watch for debris or localized flooding. Residents can also report storm-related issues (such as flooding, fallen branches, or blocked drains) using the Solana Beach App. For more storm preparedness tips, click “Learn More” below. Stay safe, Solana Beach!

Presidents' Day City Hall Closure

In observance of President's Day, City Hall and all non-essential City buildings will be closed on Monday, February 16th. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, February 17th. Essential City services and emergency response will be available during this time.

Please note that EDCO does not observe this holiday, so residents should leave their bins out on their regular service day.

Tuesday, February 17

The City is proud to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day on Tuesday, February 17th! As an official “City of Kindness,” Solana Beach is committed to fostering a culture of compassion and encourages everyone to take a moment to spread kindness in our community. A simple act—whether it’s a compliment, a helping hand, or a thoughtful gesture—can inspire others and create a positive ripple effect that extends beyond one moment. Even witnessing kindness can brighten someone’s day and encourage them to pay it forward. Let’s celebrate and continue making kindness a defining part of Solana Beach, one act at a time!

Solana Beach Cares is proud to announce the Spring Clean donation drive happening from March 1st to March 31st! We invite the community to donate essential household cleaning supplies to help set families up for success and ease the burden on those in need. A full list of suggested donations is available on our website. Every donation, big or small, will go directly to a neighbor who could use a little extra care and support. Join this ongoing effort as we continue to build a kinder, more connected Solana Beach.
