Virtual Meeting: E-bike Safety and Laws

Virtual Meeting on
E-bike Safety Rules and Guidelines
Tuesday, August 31st, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
The City of Solana Beach, City of Encinitas, and San Diego County Sheriff’s Department are asking parents and caregivers of kids or teenagers with e-bikes to attend a virtual meeting to learn about important safety rules and guidelines to reinforce with their young riders.

There has been stepped up education and information on e-bike issues in recent months, but we need parents and caregivers to help emphasize this information at home and on the road. Please join us virtually to learn how you and your e-bike riders can safely and legally share the road.

The Sheriff’s Department and San Diego County Bike Coalition will be sharing important information, including:

  • Understanding what’s legal and what’s not when it comes to e-bikes
  • Your responsibility as the parent or legal guardian of an e-bike rider
  • Tips for keeping your kids safe
  • Resources and educational opportunities for e-bike riders.

If you’re interested but unable to attend this meeting, it will be recorded and posted on the cities’ websites.

We appreciate your help so we can all have fun and stay safe on our roadways.
