San Diego County and California public health officials have issued orders to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus disease, or COVID-19. The orders are in effect until further notice. San Diego County public health order (PDF)
Face Coverings
New additions to the Public Health Officer orders are now posted, including cloth face coverings required for grocery store, pharmacy/drug store, convenience store/gas station and restaurant employees.
Stay home except for essential needs
Everyone is required to stay home except for essential needs or to go to an essential job. If you go out, keep at least six feet away from others.

County Parks Closed/Beaches Closed to Watersports and Swimming
All County Parks-managed parking lots, staging areas, ball fields & sports courts are now closed per the County's Public Health Order. Additionally, effective last Saturday, April 4th at 12:00 AM, all boating for recreational purposes, watersports, or swimming, are prohibited on or in public waterways and at beaches. Parks & preserves remain open to local residents who can access them by foot, bike or horse - passive recreation, only.

All State Beaches in San Diego County are Closed
Last Friday, the California Department of State Parks announced the closure of state parks and beaches throughout the state. The closures in San Diego County, which became effective at sunset on April 3rd, include the following local parks and beaches:
- Torrey Pines State Beach
- Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
- South Cardiff State Beach
- Cardiff State Beach
- San Elijo State Beach
- Carlsbad State Beach
