The City would like to send out a courtesy notice that starting Tuesday, May 29th, the North County Transit District (NCTD) will be performing scheduled maintenance work to repair the slopes on both sides of the railroad tracks in Solana Beach. The work will start approximately 350 feet south of Lomas Santa Fe and extend north to the Cliff Street Pedestrian Bridge. Although the actual construction work will occur entirely within the NCTD right of way, access to the west side slope will be from Highway 101 and the Coastal Rail Trail.
The planned work will require periodic closures of the right-hand vehicle travel lane and bike lane along northbound Highway 101. Additionally, the Coastal Rail Trail (CRT) may experience temporary closures near the work zone. The CRT will never be entirely closed. The construction work is expected to last approximately 30 days; however, every effort will be made to minimize the impact to the residents and commuters. Work will be timed to avoid the afternoon Peak Hour Traffic and Del Mar Fair opening day; however, minor delays on northbound Highway 101 may be experienced.
All comments related to this work should be directed to
the City of Solana Beach Engineering Department at 858-720-2470.
