Beach Fires Guidelines and Responsible Practices

Keep our beaches safe and clean! City staff have seen a significant increase in beach fires of wood, nail-ridden pallets, and large refuse burned directly in the sand that leave behind charcoal remnants, trash, and nails. Such fires and their remnants are a safety hazard, are dirtying our beach, and are prohibited per City of Solana Beach municipal code. The city has previously issued warnings to beachgoers for illegal beach fires, but unfortunately the trend has continued, and violators may be cited moving forward. See the official guidelines and how to report illegal beach fires on the city website.

Clean Energy Alliance Relief Rate Notice

In response to the increase in rising energy costs, the Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) Board of Directors adopted a rate relief measure on January 29th, 2026. The measure allows customers to maintain competitive rates and continue benefiting from local energy choice. Residential customers under CEA's Clean Impact power product will receive this credit through the end of 2026. This credit ensures that the typical customer enrolled in CEA's Clean Impact plan will pay rates that are at parity or lower than SDG&E's standard rates. See which residents qualify and the benefits of the rate relief measure on the website.
