Keep our beaches safe and clean! City staff have seen a significant increase in beach fires of wood, nail-ridden pallets, and large refuse burned directly in the sand that leave behind charcoal remnants, trash, and nails. Such fires and their remnants are a safety hazard, are dirtying our beach, and are prohibited per City of Solana Beach municipal code. The city has previously issued warnings to beachgoers for illegal beach fires, but unfortunately the trend has continued, and violators may be cited moving forward. See the official guidelines and how to report illegal beach fires on the city website. |
