Once again, you might have noticed helicopters in action yesterday and today as they carried out their most recent spraying operations over the San Elijo and San Dieguito lagoons. These operations are part of the diligent work of the County Vector Control Program (VCP). There has been a noticeable increase in mosquito activity lately, due to factors such as warmer weather, higher tides and standing water left by Tropical Storm Hilary. To address this issue, the VCP has taken action by using helicopters to apply mosquito larvicide in areas where manual treatment is difficult. Most importantly, these larvicides pose zero risk to humans, pets, plants, or wildlife. |
