Celebrating Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a special day to celebrate and honor all the amazing women who have played a motherly role in our lives. Whether it's your own mother, a stepmom, an aunt, a grandmother, or even a close family friend, this day is about recognizing the love and support that these incredible women have given us. If you're looking for a way to spoil or simply want to spend time with her, Solana Beach has plenty of ways to make this day special. From delightful brunches and gorgeous sunset beach walks to the vibrant farmers market and scenic hiking trails, there are endless opportunities to show your love and appreciation. And don't forget to check out local shops and boutiques for unique and thoughtful gifts that are sure to make her day. Let's come together as a community to make this Mother's Day unforgettable for all the amazing mothers out there!

Spring Bulky-Item Cleanup Day

Here is your reminder to schedule your free bulky-item pick-up if you haven't already done so because the Spring Bulky-Item Cleanup Day is this Saturday, May 13th! The City has partnered with EDCO to host this event to give residents the opportunity to place trash, green waste and up to four bulky items at the curb that would be too large or heavy to put inside collection carts. These items include broken appliances, water heaters, furniture, old mattresses and other miscellaneous bulky household clutter. To participate, please call (858) 350-8544 and put items out curbside by 7:00 AM on Saturday, May 13th for collection.

On May 16th from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the Solana Beach library will transform into a traditional Mexican countryside with an evening of fun Mariachi music by three musicians from “Mariachi Serenata San Diego” and dance performances from the “Jaliscience Folkloric Group”. The night will also include discussion about mariachi and the impact it has had on their lives, as well as mariachi education in public schools.
