This weekend, all COASTER and Amtrak Pacific Surfliner services along the San Diego segment of the Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) coastal rail corridor will be suspended due to a planned Absolute Work Window (AWW). No passenger or freight trains will operate between Oceanside and Downtown San Diego beginning early Saturday morning through early Monday morning. The closures are as follows:
Solana Beach to Santa Fe Depot
Saturday, April 10th, at 12 AM - 4 AM Tuesday morning, April 13th
Oceanside to Santa Fe Depot
Saturday, April 10th, at 12 AM - 5 AM Monday morning, April 12th
An additional rail closure from Solana Beach to Downtown San Diego is also scheduled from 5 AM Monday, April 12th to 4 AM on Tuesday, April 13th, to accommodate the Del Mar Bluffs Stabilization emergency repairs.
Additional weekend rail closures between Solana Beach and Downtown San Diego are scheduled for the following weekends:
- April 17 – April 20
- April 24 – April 26
- May 1 – May 3
These additional rail closures are necessary for emergency repairs to the Del Mar Bluffs.
Bus "Bridge" Service to Santa Fe Depot
On Monday, April 12th and Monday, April 19th, due to the Del Mar Bluff repairs, the North County Transit District (NCTD) will operate bus "bridge" service between Solana Beach and Santa Fe Depot. COASTER service will continue between Oceanside and Solana Beach; however, passengers traveling southbound past Solana Beach will travel via BREEZE bus. The southbound BREEZE buses will transport COASTER passengers from Solana Beach to each COASTER station, terminating at Santa Fe Depot. Northbound BREEZE buses will transport COASTER passengers from Santa Fe Depot to each COASTER station, terminating at Oceanside Transit Center.
Amtrak Pacific Surfliner tickets will be required for any Amtrak related replacement service. For questions, please contact NCTD Customer Service at (760) 966-6500.
