La Colonia Park Community Center, 715 Valley Avenue
The Solana Beach Civic and Historical Society's major fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 18th at the La Colonia Community Center. The center will be transformed into a wonderland of creative and beautiful holiday décor and gift items. There will be restored antique quilts and linens offered for sale. Proceeds fund the many Civic projects such as City beautification, college scholarships for our local youth, the Heritage House history program for local third graders and much more.

Raffle tickets for chances to win a 1930's star quilt will be available for purchase. This beautiful quilt features hand-stitched stars and is backed with modern fleece material for warmth and coziness. It is currently on display at the Solana Beach Library. The winning ticket will be drawn at the SBC&HS Holiday Luncheon in December. The winner need not be present at the luncheon to win. Door prizes will also be provided throughout the day.

City Hall Gallery Exhibit - SNAPSHOT

"Snapshot" by Madeline Claire and will run from November 16th to  December 27th
MADELINE CLAIRE
SNAPSHOT
The City of Solana Beach proudly invites you to the opening of our new City Hall Exhibition "Snapshot" by Madeline Claire.

Date: Saturday, November 18th 4:00 - 7:00 pm
Site: Solana Beach's City Hall Gallery
635 S. Highway 101, Solana Beach, CA 92075

For more information, contact Kayla Moshki at 858.720.2438.

Madeline Claire lives and works in Oakland, CA. She characterizes her work as minimalist impressionism, utilizing a monochromatic color palette to capture specific moments in time. The absence of color in her paintings provides a sense of timelessness. Madeline's inspiration for this show is drawn from nostalgic memories and family photos.

While studying at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, Madeline began to develop her unique style. CCA chooses one student annually for the New York Studio Residency Program in Brooklyn; Madeline was awarded that honor. Madeline's work resides both in the permanent collection at Georgetown University as well as with private collectors. She has exhibited her work at the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego. Her numerous group exhibitions include "Stationed in Between" at Aggregate Space Gallery and "Phase Forward" at the Oliver Arts Center.
