After receiving his degree in music from the University of New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz, Ryan moved to America's Finest City after Hurricane Katrina and has since established himself as a regularly featured artist both in private and public settings.
Ryan has honed his craft through years of writing, recording, and performance. He has opened up for The Steve Miller Band, The Doobie Brothers, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns and Roses, Foreigner, Styx, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Neil Diamond, Chicago, Lyle Lovett, John Scofield, Chris Isaak, and Don Felder of the Eagles. He has performed at Qualcomm stadium, Petco Park, The Belly Up, The House Of Blues, among countless others, both in San Diego and nationally. In 2015, Ryan became GigTown Music's first artist, a testament to Ryan's involvement in the booming San Diego music scene.
Ryan Hiller signed with Pacific Records in 2016. His first Pacific Records release, "Big Medicine" was released in May of 2017. This will be Ryan's fourth album. Ryan says, "The songs on this album were written with an audience who likes to get down at a festival in mind. Big Medicine is in quite the literal sense what I was trying to create because there's nothing more healing than a good time." A national tour and festival appearances are currently in the works following the release of the album.
Ryan's expertise has also garnered him sponsorship from Fender, Taylor Guitars, Sennheiser Microphones, Gator Cases , QSC, T-Rex, ACS Custom, and LR Baggs Pickups, some of the biggest names in the industry.
