Join us for the opening of the City of Solana Beach's new City Hall exhibition, "The Island." Come meet the featured artist, Lea Zaglin, and celebrate her first solo photography exhibit. Drinks and appetizers will be served for guest enjoyment.

Opening Reception
Saturday, February 17, 2018 
4:00 - 7:00 pm
 
The exhibition is displayed from February 17th through March 31st.

Lea Zaglin was born in 1992, and raised on the small island of Vashon, Washington to which she recently moved back to. She is a recent graduate of California College of the Arts in Oakland, with a B.F.A. in photography. Through both medium format film and digital photography, Lea works with portraiture and landscapes to create images where the veil between reality and the dream state is permeable. She has exhibited work at the College Avenue Gallery, Oakland Museum of California and Oliver Arts Center in Oakland, CA. Lea currently works as a Freelance Retoucher for Annabelle Breakey Photography in San Francisco.

Recruitment for PUBLIC ARTS COMMISSION vacancy

Citizen Commission Opening
Volunteers Serving on behalf of the City Council
  
Applications are being accepted through Monday, February 20, 2018, 5:30 p.m.

At the direction of the City Council, the Public Arts Commission participates in reviewing certain matters regarding community art opportunities and conducts certain City events. Members of this Commission are directly responsible for planning, implementing, and carrying out operations of the Commissions events and programs.

Regular Meetings: 
Meetings are typically held the 4th Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.

Professional Positions:
One vacancy - term will expire January 2020

The City of Solana Beach's new City Hall exhibition will be featuring Lea Zaglin's first solo photography exhibit, "The Island." The exhibition is displayed from February 17th through March 31st.
