Rep. Levin and several Members of Congress introduced this bill to prevent new oil and gas leasing along the Southern California coast in order to protect vital ecosystems and safeguard coastal communities from the impacts of oil spills. The Solana Beach City Council will discuss this bill at next week’s Council meeting on Wednesday, December 10th at 6:00 PM. This year’s count takes place on Thursday, January 29th, from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM, with volunteers needed for the Solana Beach area. Once the tree's light switch is flipped, all eyes turn to watch for Santa's arrival by fire-truck escort! Children will have the chance to ask Santa for that most important gift and to remind him just how good they've been all year! There will be live music and cookies, cider, and treats. | | Santa's Sleigh Ride Friday, December 12th, 2:30 PM | | | | Back by popular demand, the City and the City's Solana Beach Parks and Recreation Commission are excited to invite you to join us to watch Santa's Sleigh Ride through the community! On Friday December 12th, starting at 2:30 PM, Santa will be riding along with our Fire, Sheriff and Marine Safety personnel throughout Solana Beach. The Sleigh Ride will begin and end at the Solana Beach Fire Station, located at 500 Lomas Santa Fe Drive. Please view the map at the link below to find the estimated time when Santa will be riding through your neighborhood. | | | La Colonia Tree Lighting Saturday, December 13th, 5:00 PM | | | | The City and La Colonia Community Foundation invite you to a special La Colonia Park Holiday Tree Lighting event on Saturday, December 13th, at 5:00 PM. Join your friends and neighbors at La Colonia Park to celebrate the holiday season. There will be plenty of sweets, treats, and Mexican hot cocoa to go along with all the fun, including traditional holiday aguinaldos treat bags for the children, and delicious pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread). How to Submit Public Comments
Written Comments: To provide written input on an agenda item, email the City Clerk at clerkoffice@cosb.org. - Use the meeting date in the subject line and include the agenda item number.
- Written comments must be submitted at least two hours before the meeting.
- Please note written comments will not be read aloud during the meeting but will be shared with the Council and added to the public record.
Verbal Comments: To speak during the meeting, submit a speaker slip to the City Clerk before the meeting starts or before the relevant agenda item is announced. - Each speaker is allotted 3 minutes per topic.
- Individuals can receive up to 6 minutes if time is donated by another attendee, or up to 10 minutes for group discussions. For public hearings, time donated by two attendees allows up to 15 minutes for a speaker.
