Community News & Events

New Fletcher Cove Tot Lot Coming Soon!

Good news! The new Fletcher Cove tot lot will be breaking ground in the very near future. Thanks to the community for providing important feedback in designing this project. The improvements will include new play equipment that will have inclusive play opportunities, new play surfacing, and associated landscape areas and furnishings. Construction of the project is expected to begin this Spring 2023 and will be completed this Summer.

Stay tuned for more information on the replacement of the La Colonia Park Tot Lot, which has also been approved by the City Council. We are excited to begin construction of these much-needed improvements at both of our local parks.

Safe Routes to School

On January 11^th, the City Council officially approved the City's Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Plan! Thanks to everyone who participated in the workshops and those who provided feedback. The SRTS program aims to create safer, more comfortable and accessible routes for Solana Beach schoolchildren, their families, and residents to walk, bike, or roll to school. The City, in partnership with the local Elementary, Middle, and High Schools, and the local Boys and Girls Club, now has its own, customized Solana Beach Safe Routes To School Plan!

Public Meetings
