Tropical Cyclone Kay will bring heavy rain (.7-1.5”) and powerful winds (45-55 mph) along the coastal zone this Friday into Saturday. The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for San Diego County Coastal Areas, Mountains, and Valleys starting from September 9th at 6:00 AM to September 10th at 12:00 AM.

- Heavy rain will develop on Friday and will continue into Saturday.
- The winds will be strongest Friday afternoon and evening.
- Flooding potential due to excessive rainfall especially desert slopes and deserts but includes some urban areas.
- This combination of heavy moisture and strong winds can take down large mature trees and power lines.
- High temperatures will persist as well as energy demands during peak periods.
