Have you noticed a painted rock around Solana Beach? Kindness Rocks! is a fun community project that is all about kindness, caring, and community. Kindness Rocks! has brought people together and put smiles on faces, especially during the unusual times of this pandemic.
The Kindness Rocks! project was started by an individual here in Solana Beach and has since created a huge ripple effect, inspiring many residents and community groups to join in as well. The Solana Beach City of Kindness Committee, Solana Beach Civic & Historical Society (Seaweeders), and a Girls Scout Troop have all joined in to spread kindness around Solana Beach.
World Kindness Day is right around the corner on Saturday, November 13th. This day is devoted to the positive potential of both large and small acts of kindness and we encourage you to promote and spread this crucial quality that brings people of every kind together. Kindness is contagious!
When we are KIND, we inspire others to BE KIND, and it creates a RIPPLE EFFECT that spreads outwards. Just as a pebble creates waves when it is dropped in a pond, acts of KINDNESS ripple outwards, touching others lives and inspiring kindness everywhere the wave goes.
Kindness Rocks! Painting Event
In honor of World Kindness Day, the City of Kindness community members will be hosting a Kindness Rocks! painting event on Saturday, November 6th from 2:00-4:00 PM, at the the Boys & Girls Club Center for a Healthy Lifestyle (533 Lomas Santa Fe Drive). Bring your friends, family or come solo for this fun healthy lifestyle event. All supplies will be provided. All you will need is your ideas and messages to paint!
If you can't make it to the event, you can always decide to paint rocks on your own! Just remember to please include #SBCityofKindness on the bottom of the rock if you want to be part of the Kindness Rocks! community project. And then take a few photos to share on social media using #SBCityofKindness. This type of kindness has a ripple effect!
