A New Chapter at Your Library

A New Chapter at the Solana Beach Library!
The San Diego County Library (SDCL) is excited to announce that a brand new chapter is about to begin at the Solana Beach branch. SDCL will introduce some big changes on July 14th, including a fresh new logo, website, and computer system. Additionally, they are pleased to promote equitable access by eliminating overdue fines.

Here are a few things you need to know:
  • Some of the library services will be limited in the next few days while their computer system is being upgraded. Customers will still be able to check out materials and use the computers, but new items won’t be coming in and customer requests will be paused.
  • The shared borrowing service with other libraries and universities, known as Link+ and Circuit, will be paused until the early fall.
  • They are no longer charging customers a fine for keeping County Library materials beyond their due date. Materials will automatically renew two days before the due date, when there are no other customers waiting for the item. If materials are not returned within 28 days of their due date, customers will be charged the cost of the item and a processing fee. They will begin a public marketing campaign announcing these changes on August 1st.

Not everything is changing: they will still be providing great customer service for our communities! For any questions, please call (858) 755-1404.
