Children's Spring Festival and Egg Hunt Will Be Held This Saturday, March 31  City of Solana Beach Will Host the Free Family Event at La Colonia Community Park WHEN: This Saturday, March 31, 2018 10am to 12:00pm - Children's Spring Festival 10:30am Exactly - Egg Hunt WHERE: La Colonia Community Park, 715 Valley Avenue WHO: Festival is open to all families. Games are open to kids of all ages. Egg Hunt participants must be in the third grade or younger. La Colonia Community Park will be filled with hundreds of families this Saturday, March 31, to celebrate the 29th annual Children's Spring Festival and Egg Hunt. Free games and refreshments will be provided. The major event is the Egg Hunt where boys and girls, in the third grade or younger, will search for eggs filled with treats and prizes. Participants are being asked to bring their own basket or decorative bag to collect the goodies. Fun jumps, crafts, pictures with the Spring Bunny, and piñatas will also be offered. City Council Vacancy  Application Period:  Beginning March 29, 2018 12:00 p.m. and accepted no later than April 5, 2018 5:00 p.m. At the March 28, 2018 Regular Council meeting, the City Council approved to accept applications to fill an unexpected Council Vacancy for the remaining time of the term. Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk's Office.   The City Council will review and consider applications for appointment at an April 11, 2018 Special Council Meeting.   The appointed member will agree Not to Run for the candidate seat in the November 6, 2018, General Election.  Once appointed, and sworn in, the appointed member's term will begin immediately and end at the certification of election results in December, which would elect a new member to the seat.
