COMMUNITY ADVISORY: Annual Pavement Rehabilitation Project  The City’s annual Pavement Rehabilitation Project starts on Monday, June 20th. While there are several segments of pavement repair work throughout the City, one of the major areas of this work will be the complete resurfacing of both sides of Santa Helena from Santa Rosita to Sun Valley Road. The work will start on Tuesday afternoon, June 21st, and will be completed by Wednesday evening, June 22nd. There will be traffic control and detour signage to direct traffic through and around the work zones. City Council Meetings June 22, 2022 Agenda Notice This is a virtual meeting. The meeting location will NOT be open to the public. Be advised that due to the COVID-19 pandemic in-person participation will not be allowed, there will be no members of the public in attendance at Council Meetings. Alternatives to in-person attendance for viewing and participating in City Council meetings are being provided below. In an ongoing effort to increase public participation at City Council meetings under current state and county public heath orders, the City is providing some alternate participation options during Zoom Council meetings. In order to effectively manage this process, instructions have been established and are outlined below. Channel: Meetings are broadcast live on Cox Communications - Channel 19 / Spectrum (Time Warner)-Channel 24 / AT&T U-verse Channel 99. • Archived videos online: The video taping of meetings are maintained as a permanent record and contain a detailed account of the proceedings. Council meeting tapings are archived and available for viewing on the City’s Public Meetings webpage. Written Correspondence: (supplemental items) regarding an agenda item at an open session meeting should be submitted to the City Clerk's Office at clerkoffice@cosb.org with: a) Subject line to include the meeting date, b) Include the Agenda Item # as listed on the Agenda. Correspondence received after the official posting of the agenda, but before 3:00 p.m. (or 3 hrs. prior to the meeting start time) on the meeting day, will be distributed to Council and made available online along with the agenda posting. Age-Friendly Solana Beach Survey - Closing Soon

The City of Solana Beach Joins the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities The City of Solana Beach seeks input from residents ages 50+ to improve the community and enhance livability. The City of Solana Beach is partnering with AARP California, The San Diego Foundation, and San Diego State University Social Policy Institute, to engage and mobilize community organizations and residents in support of joining the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities to ensure that communities where we live are safe, livable, and better support people of all ages. The City of Solana Beach’s goal is to improve the quality of life for every resident as demographics change. The population of the Unites States is rapidly aging and by 2030, one of every five people in the U.S. will be 65 or older. And, by 2035, the number of adults older than 65 will be greater than the number of children under 18. The Age-Friendly Solana Beach partnership strives to guide communities through the age-friendly network’s assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation processes. People of all ages will benefit from the adoption of policies and programs such as making neighborhoods walkable, feature transportation options, enable access to key services, provide opportunities to participate in community activities, and to support housing that is affordable and adaptable. Age-Friendly Solana Beach continues to focus on equity and aims to eliminate disparities to fairly serve all residents, especially older adults. To assist in this effort, the City of Solana Beach is launching an Age-Friendly Solana Beach Survey to gather input from Solana Beach residents. If you or someone you know are 50 years or older and live in the City of Solana Beach community, we invite you to participate in this survey! The survey will help to identify priorities for helping Solana Beach residents age well and in place. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will be available from June 1st to June 17th, 2022 and can be accessed by clicking here for English and here for Spanish. The survey will focus on various topics such as, Outdoor Spaces and Public Places, Transportation, Housing, Social Participation, Respect, and Social Inclusion, Work and Civic Engagement, Communications and Information and Community and Health Services. The City of Solana Beach is committed to providing meaningful and relevant services to residents of all ages specifically to older residents with a vision to keep them active and healthy while residing in this city.
