The Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce and Belly Up have been hosting this FREE 2-day Arts & Music Festival for 43-years as a kick off to Summer in Solana Beach! As the largest street fair in Solana Beach, Fiesta del Sol has something for everyone. The Belly Up has lined up a great list of musicians to perform over the two day event. | | Free Secure Bike Parking! | Be sure to pedal down and take advantage of the complimentary bike parking at Solana Beach Train Station. This year marks the debut of Fiesta del Sol's Free Secure Bike Parking, where you can rest assured that SD County Bike Coalition Bike Valet staff will securely park and monitor your bike. Mike Levin Celebrates Completion of Encinitas-Solana Beach Sand Replenishment Project | | | On Monday, May 13th, U.S. Congressman, Mike Levin (CA-49th District) joined Solana Beach Mayor Lesa Heebner, Encinitas Mayor Tony Kranz, and Col. Andrew Baker from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to celebrate the completion of the Encinitas-Solana Beach Sand Replenishment Project. This collaborative effort pumped over a million cubic yards of sand onto our beaches, resulting in wider beaches that not only fortify against erosion and storm impacts but have also expanded the recreational opportunities for our communities. We would like to thank everyone who helped make this project possible, including Rep. Mike Levin and his team, the City of Encinitas, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and state and local officials. We look forward to embracing these newly revitalized shores this summer! | | Community Advisory: La Jolla Half Marathon Road Closure | | The La Jolla Half Marathon will be taking place on Saturday, May 18th. Please be advised that In order to accommodate this event, Via de la Valle from Jimmy Durante to Highway 101 will be closed Saturday morning starting at 6:15 AM. In past years, Via de la Valle has re-opened to traffic by around 7:30 AM. | | | La Colonia Tot Lot Grand Re-Opening! | | | You're invited to the Grand Re-Opening of the highly anticipated La Colonia Park Tot Lot! The route is now finalized at 12.5 miles and will start at La Colonia Park at 10:00 AM. From there the group will pedal through the lovely neighborhoods of Solana Beach at a leisurely pace. Previous tours had well over 100 people and more riders are expected this year, so please register in advance! | | Join a parade Solana Beach families for the inaugural Solana Beach Family Fun Ride on Sunday, May 26th, at 10:00 AM. Compared to the Tour of Solana Beach, this shorter family-friendly ride will start at the north end of the Solana Beach Train Station parking lot and will follow the Coastal Rail Trail and Hwy 101 for a leisurely 2-3 mile journey. Get into the spirit by decorating your bike or donning a costume! Registration is now open. | | | 2024 Participant Tracy Weiss & her pup Louise | | BikeWalkSolana Scavenger Hunt | There are only two weeks left to participate in the BikeWalkSolana Scavenger Hunt. This has become a very popular event and has over 200 participants! Join in this fun event by registering now to receive your scavenger package and go explore our charming seaside city on foot. Participants will answer questions about Solana Beach's intriguing history to be entered to win fun prizes.
