The winter Holidays are a popular time of year to travel. When families gather, parties are scheduled and travel spikes, safety should be top of mind both on the road and at home. Holiday vacations are a fun and exciting way to spend time with loved ones but can you be sure that you have taken enough necessary steps to protect your home while you are away? If you're traveling this Holiday, consider signing up for a free Home Vacation Check. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department offers free home vacation checks year-round. Simply sign up for this free service and the Sheriff’s Department Senior Volunteer Patrol will keep a watchful eye on your home while you are away for the Holidays!
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department depends on volunteers to provide services needed for our communities. You are invited to join the more than 700 volunteers who provide over 168,000 hours of service per year. The North Coastal Sheriff’s Station is currently recruiting volunteers for its Senior Volunteer Patrol Program. The Senior Volunteer Program is a volunteer-based program for individuals 50 years and older who want to serve their community by promoting public safety and crime prevention programs as well as providing assistance at Sheriff's stations. All applicants approved for the program attend a formal two-week academy.
