Wednesday, May 29th from 6:00 to 7:30pm
The City of Solana Beach will be holding an Open House to discuss the Lomas Santa Fe Active Transportation Improvement Project. At the Open House, the community will again be asked to provide input on the plans for the corridor improvements. The design team will be available to gather input and answer questions about the project. The Open House will be held on Wednesday, May 29th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the City of Solana Beach Council Chambers, which is located at 635 South Highway 101. 

Please note that per the direction from the City Council at the Council meeting in September 2018, all roundabouts have been removed from the project and will not be studied.

San Diego County Fair - Community Advisory

San Diego County Fair - Community Advisory
This is a community advisory to remind everyone that the San Diego County Fair will start next Friday, May 31st and run through July 4th, and will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays in June. Traffic and noise tend to increase during this time, so the City would like to remind everyone to plan ahead accordingly during busy Fair events and weekends.

Also, the Fair has set up phone numbers and an email address for all concerns, questions, or issues related to the Fair.

Community Grant Program FY 2019-20

Community Grant Program FY 2019-20
The City of Solana Beach is soliciting grant applications 
until 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2019.
The City Council has a total of $30,000 available for community organizations.
A maximum of two grant applications may be submitted per community organization. Grants will be awarded with a maximum award of $5,000.

Solana Beach Celebrates Memorial Day on May 27th with Public Ceremony

Solana Beach Celebrates Memorial Day on 
May 27th with Public Ceremony
Free Community Event with Terry Kuhs as featured speaker and entertainment by the Santa Fe Christian School Band.
The City of Solana Beach and Solana Beach Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5431 will co-host a Memorial Day ceremony from 11 am to noon on Monday, May 27, 2019, at the La Colonia Park Veterans Honor Courtyard, 715 Valley Avenue. 

Camp Pendleton Young Marines will be the honor guard. The ceremony speakers include guest speaker Terry Kuhs, Solana Beach Mayor David Zito and Randy Treadway, Post Commander for VFW Post 5431. The Santa Fe Christian School Band will perform patriotic songs. A special “Feathers from Heaven” dove release will be provided by Joe and Leslie Irwin. The Veteran’s Memorial Wall, which honors the service of all Solana Beach Veterans of Foreign Wars, will be available for viewing. Docents from the Civic and Historical Society will be on hand to conduct tours of the Historical Museum. 

Light refreshments will be served. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
