FOR NOVEMBER 2020 ELECTION

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City will hold the fifth public hearing to consider the adoption of Ordinance 488 establishing the City Council District Boundary Maps and Sequence of Elections pursuant to Election Code 10010 on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall (635 S. Highway 101, Solana Beach, CA 92075).

All interested parties are invited to attend. If you have any questions, residents are invited to call 858-720-2400. Information about district elections and why the City is taking these actions is available on the City website:

Summer "Concerts at the Cove" continues this Thursday night, June 28, with the United States Navy Band performing!

Navy Band Southwest gives you a taste of New Orleans with its newest group - the 32nd Street Brass Band! This new brass band will have you thinking you are on Bourbon Street celebrating Mardi Gras.
The 32nd Street Brass Band performs upbeat music for homecoming ship arrivals and community events. By incorporating the styles of Jazz, Funk, Dixieland, and R&B, the 32nd Street Brass Band will be sure to keep you moving and entertained.

The 32nd Street Brass Band will bring a Mardi Gras feel to any venue.
This event is free and open to the public. 
The public is encouraged to bring low-back beach chairs, ground cover, and picnics . . . and arrive "Car-Free." No alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes, pets, or personal BBQ's allowed during concerts.

Composition of City Council 
Electoral Districts
Following the May 30, 2018 public hearing, the City Council provided direction to modify alternative maps 404 and 410. These Focus Maps are available for review and will be considered for introduction at a public hearing scheduled for June 26, 2018 Special Council Meeting (6:00 pm).

The next dates at which district maps will be discussed and considered will be at the following City Council Hearings:
  
Tuesday, June 26, 2018, 6:00 PM, City Hall
Wednesday, July 11, 2018, 6:00 PM, City Hall
 
The focus maps will be considered at the June 26th public hearing for ordinance introduction.
 
On July 11, 2018, the final public hearing is scheduled to adopt an ordinance implementing district-based elections for seats on the City Council.
 
All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing(s) and express opinions and/or submit information. If you have any questions, residents are invited to call 858-720-2400 or email SolanaBeach@NDCresearch.com.
 
Information about district elections, why the City is taking these actions, and the process of formulating district boundaries is available on the City's website at www.cityofsolanabeach.org.
