Build North Coast Corridor (NCC): Overnight and Weekend Work January 20-22 Near Near Cardiff-by-the-Sea

Build North Coast Corridor (NCC):
Overnight and Weekend Work January 20-22 Near Cardiff-by-the-Sea
Construction crews in Cardiff-by-the-Sea
will be installing new rail crossovers.
Overnight and weekend work is planned for Saturday, January 20, beginning at 12:30 a.m. through 4 a.m. on Monday, January 22, as construction crews install the second pair of new rail road crossovers and turn outs. The work is necessary to accommodate the construction of the San Elijo Lagoon Double Track Project.
The new crossovers and turn outs, which have been under construction for the last few months near Montgomery Avenue, will allow trains to switch tracks as necessary. The work will require crews to remove track segments, move the crossovers and turn outs into place, and connect them to the existing track.

Upon project completion, the new crossovers will allow trains to switch tracks as necessary.

The work will occur during an Absolute Work Window (AWW) where rail service will be temporarily suspended between Oceanside and San Diego allowing crews to meet significant construction milestones and work unimpeded while all rail services are halted.

Nearby residents and businesses can expect intermittent day and nighttime noise and lights. Crews will work to minimize noise and other impacts to nearby residents. Your patience during construction is appreciated.
