Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day!

Random Acts of Kindness Day!
City of Solana Beach is proud to celebrate
Random Acts of Kindness Day on Thursday, February 17, 2022
On this day we celebrate, honor and encourage random acts of kindness in our community. Simple acts of kindness are contagious, and the collective power of kindness has the ability to change culture. Big or small… a kind act makes a difference.

The positive effects of kindness are experienced in the brain of everyone who witnessed the act, improving their mood and making them significantly more likely to “pay it forward.” This means one good deed in a crowded area can create a domino effect and improve the day of dozens of people!

When we are KIND, we inspire others to BE KIND, and it creates a ripple effect that spreads outwards. Just as a pebble creates waves when it is dropped in a pond, acts of KINDNESS ripple outwards, touching others lives and inspiring kindness everywhere the wave goes.

Be Kind, Solana Beach
The City of Solana Beach is, by resolution, a “City of Kindness,” and is committed to fostering a culture of kindness among City government, schools, businesses, residents, and visitors. We encourage you to participate in spreading kindness in Solana Beach! Join the kindness movement and be a part of our “City of Kindness.” Keep a look out for the "Be Kind, Solana Beach" signs that are sprouting up throughout the community as remind to be kind.

Kindness Rocks! Community Project

Have you noticed a painted rock around Solana Beach? Kindness Rocks! is a fun community project that is all about kindness, caring, and community. Kindness Rocks! has brought people together and put smiles on faces, especially during the unusual times of this pandemic.

The Kindness Rocks! project was started by an individual here in Solana Beach and has since created a huge ripple effect. Residents can join in this community project by painting their own rocks! Please remember to include #SBCityofKindness on the bottom of the rock to join in the Kindness Rocks! community project. And always remember to take a few photos to share on social media using #SBCityofKindness.
